TsaMpa went to Bulgaria for the "112" Training Course, May 2021

On May 2021 three young people from Greece traveled to Varhovrah (Върховръх) in Bulgaria! Ivana, Kostantinos, and Michalis traveled on the 7th of May 2021 from Crete and Thessaloniki and the amazing adventure had just started!

Thanks to the YDCMA organization from Bulgaria, 3 members of the TsaMpa, non formal group of youths active in youth wo, and 27 more youths from Europe had an unforgettable Erasmus+ experience!

The Training Course "112" aimed at developing various skills and competencies of youth workers related to first aid, risk management, and managing difficult situations. Three experienced trainers provided the  30 participants for 9 European countries (Poland, Bulgaria, Italy, Spain, Czech Republic, The Republic of North Macedonia, Romania, Portugal, and Greece) with the necessary information and helped them enhance their abilities through the methods of non-formal and informal education. The purpose of the TC was for the participated youth workers to know more about the protection of the people they work with, how to prevent risk situations, and how to make the other members of their organizations aware of these issues.

The Greek team returned happy and grateful for this experience. They fullfilled their expectations! Some of them participated for the first time in Erasmus+ projects but all were excited and happy for this opportunity! Here are their feelings and thoughts after the project!

The "112" training course has been truly and deeply etched in my mind and heart. The project by itself with its great trainers provided me with the knowledge to be confident enough to know how to react when unexpected incidents occur, let's say a terrorist attack on a plane I'm in or a blaze in my working environment. And also, how to bring myself back when my inner world is in pieces. As if that wasn't more than enough, I've managed to connect and bond with a great number of different people in such a short period of time, quite rare but pretty amazing. On top of all of that, the nature and landscape of Rodopi mountain were outrageously breathtaking. Training, bonfires, stars, walks, talks. We had everything there! Truthfully, one of the greatest experiences of my life.

Konstantinos said:

Through the Erasmus+ project "TC 112" I had the chance to get to know new practices of first aid and crisis management situations and acquire a lot of knowledge on the specific topic. But apart from that, I met new people from all around the globe, exchanged ideas, and learned more about the world. I am truly grateful for what I have experienced in this project and I feel ready to grab the chance and participate in another project soon.

Michalis said:

My first ever Erasmus+ was absolutely prolific. Surrounded by nature, I experienced something entirely unique, made even more amazing by the awesome people that I met. The activities educated me in a fun and immersive way. It's an experience that changes you and I can't wait to do it again!

Despite the global pandemic and today's difficulties, our partnership with YDCMA was strong and successful and the participants came back full of new experiences and feelings and they expanded their personal perspectives. Traveling and Erasmus+ is to experience life in many different ways,  is actually a good remedy for stress, anxiety, and it is all about exploring new places, cultures, cuisines, rituals, and styles of living. As the quote says: Erasmus is not some days in your life, Erasmus is your life in some days!

Keep Erasmus-ing people!
