TsaMpa went to Kavos, Corfu, Greece and created the Youth Exchange "Learn out of the Box " May 2024
LBOX a succesful Youth Exchange!
Learn out of the box, was designed to address the growing levels of youth anxiety and disappointment regarding unpleasant school experiences and grade failure. We are aiming to tackle this issue by creating and disseminating experience with detailed information about how to get into life changing non formal educational activities.
The main objectives were:
- To make use of arts and non-formal activities to reach out to marginalized young people, youngsters from underprivileged backgrounds and people with disabilities or fewer opportunities.
- To actively promote social inclusion of youngsters, promoting diversity, intercultural dialogue, and common values of freedom while inspiring positive impacts on learning attitudes and lifelong learning.
- To empower youth through productive studying methods and techniques as a strategic tool to nurture tolerance and respect of the others as well as to themselves, inciting active civic participation against mental and psychological issues, discrimination and social exclusion.
- Skills such as patience, focusing, problem-solving, teamwork, adaptability, self-understanding, and self-confidence are some of focusing skills of this YE.
The Greek team:
"The #erasmusplus YE “learn out of the box” program was a fantastic experience and it taught us a lot! In just 7 days, we learned each other, but also learn from each other! Through this experience we learned to think creatively (theatrical performances, photos, songs, projects) to make objects from simple materials (a tower of spaghetti and candies) to buy and create things with little money (buying products for only 2€ from the local market and cooking foods with them). But, the most important thing was that we managed to meet and work with people from different geographical, social and cultural origins! We learned better about ourselves and enriched our skills with, and among others! All this contributed and turned us into life learners, who are not just looking for knowledge, but they are looking for ways in which they can conquer it and create it! It was really a rich experience, in which very strong feelings, knowledge and experiences were created, which will accompany us for the rest of our lives. At the end, we would like to give special thanks to our Facilitators, Anna Mpanti and Eleana Tsakalaki , who with their positive attitude and valuable guidance made this experience rich in knowledge and fun.
From our beautiful country, with much Love, The Greek Participants ❤️:
The Spanish team:
“I have lived again a wonderful experience that has allowed me to meet amazing people and their respective cultures. It’s an incredible opportunity that I certainly wouldn’t miss. I recommend it to anyone who is open to intercultural communication and the richness that it brings.” @sara.r.c
“This whole week had been a spectacular experience meeting all its participants and learning each culture and relating with them, I would repeat!” @iikerasso
“This was my first Erasmus+ project and it was a unique experience. Very motivating and creative in which I met wonderful people with whom to share the different realities that we live in each country.” @clausmiguel
“It was also my first Erasmus+ experience, so I couldn't know what I was going to experience. Of course, what I highlight most about my experience is the direct exchange and the connection with other cultures. Something that, if it doesn't happen in these contexts, is difficult to happen.” @s.o.roridade
The Erasmus + experience has been an opportunity to get to know Greece, its culture and its people. It has also been a cultural exchange with Italy, Bulgaria and Lithuania, where we have shared with young people from those countries and we have had a great time.” @b.rta
“For me the most enriching thing of all this experience has been the cultural exchange. We have been able to know aspects of other cultures directly, such as the customs and expressions of people from different countries. It has also been very exciting to discover that it is not necessarily a great effort to communicate with the companions/as around you, although each of us/as came from a part of Europe. It’s definitely a trip I’ll remember!” @angelagvl
