TsaMpa went to Pamporovo, Bulgaria for the Training Course "Media Shapers" October 2022

Eleni, Vasiliki and Anastasis participated travelled to Bulgaria for the TC "Media Shapers"!

Project summary:

Our training course “Media SHAPERS” is aiming to provide basic skills and experiences to youth workers in use of media, visual thinking and graphic facilitation methods in their youth work. Media and Visual thinking is a way to organize your thoughts and improve your ability to think and communicate. It’s a great way to convey complex or potentially confusing information. If your ideas can’t be drawn, they can’t be done. Visual thinking is a vital skill for developing new ideas, communicating those ideas effectively and collaborating with others to make them real.

Drawing is a natural process for thinking, exploring ideas and learning. Every child enjoys drawing — but at some point in our lives we learn that drawing is the province of artists. This is a fallacy. You can draw and when you were a kid you knew it. You just forgot. During this training course we will develope the graphic facilitation skills (both manual and digital) that can be used in the context of non- formal learning and youth work. This is an introductory course to graphical facilitation and visual thinking.

It is addressed to beginners and no prior knowledge in drawing or digital graphic facilitation is required. We will develop us as media and visual thinkers starting from the basics.

The hosting organization and our beloved partner:Youth Development Center- Mutual Aid” (YDCMA) organizationwas founded in 2004. The main goal of the organization is to support the development of young people and their physical, creative and spiritual qualities to be good citizens of Bulgaria and Europe

After the Training Course the Greek Team shares thoughts, photos, feelings, and memories with us!

"After coming back home, I had to answer this cliche question "How was it?".
How was it? Should I use fancy words like incredible, mind blowing, magnificent, splendid, spectacular and so on and so forth...? No. They are not even close to enough. For sure "Media Shapers" Training Course was an intense one! It has shaped my mind into new directions concerning media and graphic facilitation, and for that, I feel more than grateful for the people who provided me with this knowledge. Each one of these people that carried me away in their own dimension, offered me a new window to the world, to their world... and trust me there are many worlds out there for you to explore. Stretch your mind and expand yourself as much as possible.
Thanks to the Erasmus+ projects, you can...
Explore yourself and make it a part of a bigger picture that you will create with 20 other complete strangers in just 10 days, get lost in the mountains of Pamporovo Bulgaria, find cute puppies, enjoy the fresh air and the hot morning coffee or the cold nights while chilling at a lounge with totally random guys that will eventually become your international besties!
I was thankful enough to be a member of the Greek Gods Team but I'm more thankful to ΤsaMpa for giving me the opportunity to live this experience.

Disconnect. Reconnect. Breathe in. Breathe out. You can do it. "

"Hello! This is Eleni. I participated in this program being a member of the Greek team. TC Media Shapers Program in Pamporovo was the first Erasmus+ project I’ve ever participated in. It was a great experience as I met people from 7 different countries, I saw beautiful places and landscapes, I learned many interesting things about news, social media, graphic facilitation, visual thinking etc. It was enlightening for me to exchange views and ideas with people of different backgrounds and ages. Each day, for every module, we could put our ideas, our thoughts and our personal experiences into flipchart papers making our comments, even expressing our disagreements. What was really amazing was the fact that we could play games like treasure hunting or building paper towers; in addition, I loved the project’s part that we were drawing and learning about visual thinking rules and how to express and communicate your thoughts to the others. Finally, the most essential thing was the fact that, at nights, we were at the hotel’s restaurant relaxed, talking to each other, playing games and exchanging opinions about important issues. Thinking back, I feel really glad that I had the chance to make this trip and make new friends that I look forward to meeting them again soon maybe in another Erasmus+ program or even in my country. Thank you. I look forward to seeing all of you again soon!"

"While I was submitting my application for the exchange program Media Shapers in  Bulgaria I knew that it would be a new fun and educational experience .But surely I wasn’t ready for what would follow my acceptance in the program. Firstly the things I heard from friends and other people’s experience were not only true , but a moderate representation of the experience. The people I mete there where so welcoming that I felt I knew them for years. The cultural experience was so real that I felt a part of it. The nights were even better than the days , with games , get togethers and fun activities .Although I was there for about 10 days I got to fall in love with programs like this . Furthermore there were things that nobody could prepare me for. For starters the educational part is so good from the distribution of the “curriculum” throughout the days to the faciltators that it kept me completely absorbed to the topic.

In the education context , the things I got only from the seminars were perfectly understandable and easily executed so much so that I use them in my day to day life. Also it really helped me to open up more and be a lot more confident along with augmenting my English speaking experience. Last but not the least important I had a lot of really deep conversation with people from all around Europe and understood a lot of different approaches in lifes different struggles Even tho it was a great experience there were some small details that could have been better.

Fundamentally there was a language barrier while I was trying to arrive in the programs headquarters which made communication really difficult and the trip from Sofia’s airport to Pamporovo a bit misleading. But this wasn’t under no one’s control and also a part of the experience.
In conclusion even tho there were hardsips the experience was one
hundred percent worth it and I recommend to everyone to try it and fall in love like I did!"

Move forward.  Good things are up ahead.

Keep Erasmus-ing people!
