GenGreen Training Course: Participant's point of view

I have to admit that GEN GREEN Erasmus+ training course in Lithuania sounded like an intriguing experience from the start. I had a very detailed but pleasant interview with Anna and Eleanna and they were very co-operative and helpful so as to facilitate my trip to Lithuania as the colleagues from AY institute  @active.youth from Lithuania. 💛💚🧡

As soon as I arrived to the venue, the Greek team received a warm welcome and in the following days I became part of a multinational group of people that were producing a brainstorming of ideas on environmental issues but also were having great fun at their evenings through cultural evenings when we all had the opportunity to get more familiar with the culture and the customs of the participating countries. Of course all this energy was triggered by very detailed and to the point presentations that not only provided us with information but also educated us with tools methods and critical insights on how to tackle environmental crisis but also disseminate this knowledge to groups of people and our societies.

Followingly, on Tuesday 27th of February at 19:30 at Kallithea Grapsa Schools in Greece, with Elena’s initiative but also with Dimitris and mine participation we decided to host a follow-up activity based on the Erasmus+ TC “Gen Green” training course so as to raise awareness on environmental issues by using various tools and methods, on a group of Elena’s students.

We decided to use the Lotus Blossom Method, that we have een taught during the TC so the participants could use it in order to find solutions regrading topics such as food waste recycling ♻️ and fast fashion. It was a parallel activity in the class and at the same time online through zoom platform so that participants not living in Athens could join.

Apart from the main activity mentioned above, also other activities based on non-formal education were used in order to get to know each other and to work into groups.

Moreover, a video with moments of the TC was shown and the youth workers shared their experience during the project in Lithuania. Last but not least to be mentioned is the presence of Anna and Eleana spreading the Erasmus+ vibe to all. Special thanks to them, to Kallithea Kallithea Grapsa Schools for supporting the activity by hosting us and of course to those who participated. It has been a great experience from its grassroots till our last activity but also still active since it has provided me with a great feedback and knowledge that still needs to be disseminated”.

Move forward.  Good things are up ahead.

Keep Erasmus-ing people!
