TsaMpa went to Cyprus for the Youth Exchange "Human Flow " April 2022

Nikos, Tasos, Bill, Yria, Lazaros, Anatoli, and Dominikos were our eight participants who traveled from Greece to Cyprus and Ayia Napa for an amazing Youth Exchange "Human Flow".   We would like to thank them, as well as the Cypriot organization “POLITISTIKOS LAOGRAFIKOS OMILOS DASOUS ACHNAS” for their cooperation.

All the participants of the project learned how to integrate refugees better through social activities, developed new methods for refugee integration through youth work, exchanged good practices on alternative ways of taking care of refugees – integration and life within the local communities, lowered xenophobia, racism and foster multilingualism of the local youth, spread the main idea of the project to European youth, other NGOs, and the general public and gained insight into the possibilities for volunteering and other development opportunities.

After this project, the amazing Greek team shared with TsaMpa, thoughts, and photos from the YE!

The project 'Human Flow' had as its main topic refugees and possible ways for their integration. It helped us understand that peace is more fragile than we think and that everyone can become a refugee within hours. We learned about the Cypriot flow of refugees in 1971 after the Turkish invasion, we talked with Ukrainian refugees and we shared our country's views about the topic. During these 10 days we exchanged opinions, we managed to form very powerful friendships, and basically, we laughed A LOT.  The hotel we were staying at was absolutely amazing, it had breakfast buffets outdoor pools, and tennis courts. The best moment of the trip was the boat party where we were dancing for approximately 5 hours. It was definitely the best Erasmus project I have ever participated in.

My experience with the Youth Exchange Program: "Human Flow" that took place in Ayia Napa, Cyprus was something incredibly unforgettable! I don't really know what topic to touch on first, from the kind and helpful organizers to the very warm and lovely people I've met there and also the excellent accommodation with the stunning scenery. They were all amazing and left me speechless by how grateful and lucky I felt being there. The activities and workshops that we did were also interesting and made us really dig into our main subject which was how we can help the Integration of Refugees. All in all, those ten days that we all got to spend together as a big family were truly unbelievable and surpassed all the expectations I had for this project! In the near future, I hope I can be part of a great project as this was over and over again!

The experience in Ayia Napa was incredible! We had the chance to improve our knowledge regarding the refugees in a fun and creative way while having an amazing time in one of Cyprus' most visited regions. The accommodation and food were luxurious, to say the least! The memories we created will forever stay in our minds and we will surely try to meet with the other participants that we created such strong bonds with.

Aya Nappa was a truly amazing destination. Combining it with the luxurious accommodation and the very well-organized schedule I would rate my experience as one of my best in Erasmus+ projects.

The topic was very interesting with numerous engaging activities that really made us consider how lucky we truly are in contrast with other people

To sum up, I loved the experience and would be more than willing to return to the amazing place along with the incredible people.

I was honored to be a member of the Greek team in the Erasmus+ project ‘Human Flow’ which took place in Ayia Napa, Cyprus. My experience there was amazing, the hospitality was great. I met a lot of new people and made new friends. We shared our culture with the other countries, and our opinions, and had constructive dialogues. We participated in many interesting and innovative workshops. Through them, we learned and raised awareness about refugee integration. I hope these kinds of projects will continue to exist so other people will have the same experience as I did.

Ευχαριστώ που με επιλέξατε για το πρόγραμμα.

Καλή συνέχεια,

Λάζαρος Αμανατίδης

Going into the Human Flow erasmus+ project, I had a general idea of how fun and educational it would be, but I could never have imagined that I would meet so many incredible people that all share similar passions for social issues. The workshops proved to not only raise social awareness about a lot of issues and niches I wasn't aware of, but also helped to actually see these issues through the eyes of all the other participant's countries. The workshops and the shared activities during our free time helped me bond with people of various cultures, form long-lasting friendships, and actually feel like a part of an international community.

The photograph I picked is of the human flow culture night, where we shared each other's local cuisine and drinks, danced and sang together.

Keep Erasmus-ing people!
